Inches & Pounds

The Scale Roller Coaster
In times past, the scale was always my enemy. It discouraged me often. This journey, I told myself to only check it once every 1-3 months, because I didn't want to be enslaved by numbers again.  I prefer to look in the irror and let my body show me the changes, instead of numbers on a scale that can only measure weight and nothing else.  Muscle weighs more than fat.

________

Because I honestly didn't think I'd still be on this journey, I didn't think to take a before picture back in 2016.  That and as a photographer, I'm always comfortably behind the camera.  I have asked family if they have any pictures of me from 2016 or early 2017, so hopefully I can get a before picture.

I did find a picture from October 2016.  You can't really see the fatty details, as I tried to cover myself, but it's enough.

Here's my journey in pictures...will add as time goes by:

October 2016

May 15, 2018
(baby born april 22)

October 14, 2018
(nearly a month of bellydancing [20th])

November 4, 2018
I don't quite know what I'm doing (hence why I look awkward; just this past week I started working with my arm movements), so I just threw it together until I was happy. My 4-year-old was loving it, saying, "Mommy, you're so beautiful!" and kept hugging me and making the coin belt jingle. I have two other headpieces, and lots of other scarves, for my head (I practice pagan veiling for rituals) and hips.
